NASPA Scrabble Board

This was a fun project. Create a giant Scrabble board for the North American Scrabble Players Association. The board was built from 3/4″ Plywood with a thin layer of steel laminate on top. I then printed the board  art on adhesive back vinyl and applied it over the steel to create a magnetic surface. The letter tiles were printed direct to substrate on 3/16″ white gatorboard with a magnetic sheet backing. Then you could place the tiles on the board and move them around. Was a HUGE hit at the event!

The thing that is interesting about these hand sketched trade show exhibit solutions is this. I was flown to Florida for a day long meeting with the event organizers and after a full day of meeting, was left in the conference room to create concept sketches before I left. No pressure. Created the sketches, flew back the next day and modeled the finals.
